Comedy cook-off at Rhapsody’s - 1 September 2010

DB4F8104-F844-6C1D-A5C333B8E38B1D20The first Rhapsody Comedy Cook Off was held at the Centurion Restaurant on the 1st of September and what a great evening. The audience were entertained by Darren 'wackhead' Simpson and Malcolm Ferreira otherwise known as “Player 23”, whilst they attempted to make a fine meal from a basket of mystery ingredients like: quails eggs, smoked eel, egg noodles and Indonesian Sweet & Sour Sauce.

Prenox supplied the mobile kitchen for the event, including a 4 Pan Convection Oven, Work Tops and Induction units for the amateur chefs. “It took our team less than an hour to install the kitchen units for the show, that’s the beauty of the Modular 700 series, totally mobile and adaptable to any layout”, said Ingrid Johnson, Client Service Manager for Prenox.

Darren was the overall winner of the competition, and whilst the celebrity judges: Nicole Parfitt – Rhapsody’s Head Chef, Michalis Xekalos – Rhapsody’s Director,  Chef Martin Kobald - honourary past president SACA, Craig Hounsom - Peroni Chef and the muscular Wynand Olivier, all had the task of tasting Darren and Malcolm’s delights, the guests luckily were treated to some great food from the Rhapsody’s menu!

The next event is being held on the 6th of October @ the Bedfordview restaurant. Visit www.rhapsodys.co.za for more information.
